The past three days have been filled with talented musicians and performers all celebrating one cause: the presidential inauguration. On Sunday, Jan. 18, many performers such as Bono, Bruce Springsteen, Sheryl Crow, Beyonce, Mary J. Blige, Herbie Hancock and others performed at the Inauguration Celebration on HBO. Two Country artists also joined the list for the celebration: Garth Brooks and Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland. Nettles teamed up with James Taylor and John Legend to sing one of Taylor’s songs, “Shower The People.” Brooks sang three songs, kicking it off with “American Pie,” by Don McLean, then “Shout,” by the Isley Brothers and ended with one of his own songs, “We Shall Be Free.” On Monday, Jan 19. other events took place for the inauguration, where Miley Cyrus and her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, sang “Ready, Set, Don’t Go” together. Also during the ABC special of The Neighborhood Ball: An Inauguration Celebration, on Jan. 20, performers such as Mariah Carey, Stevie Wonder, Shakira, Bruce Springsteen, Alicia Keys, Mary J. Blige, Maroon Five, and Country’s Faith Hill all performed together.
