Country Music star Jason Michael Carroll makes Halloween a family affair. The singer and his family spend the month of October getting ready for the big candy payday with elaborate decorations and costumes.

"The older the kids get, the scarier the decorations get. We pick out our costumes months in advance, and try to go with some sort of theme. Last year, we were Scooby-Doo and the Mystery Gang. This year, we are working on a Batman theme," Carroll said.

The Carroll family Halloween includes extended family members and even a ritual or two. "While we're all getting our make-up and costumes on, we play the Michael Jackson 'Thriller' video on TV and the kids try to get all the moves down," Carroll explained. The family partakes in movies such as The Nightmare Before Christmas, The Addams Family and Hocus Pocus to get in the spirit of the holiday.

Once the sugar rush has worn off, Carroll is performing a special concert in December at Nashville's Exit/In. The performance will take place Thursday, Dec. 10, at 8 p.m. Tickets, on sale today, are $15.00 at www.ExitIn.com or www.aeglive.com.
