Jason Michael Carroll has joined forces with the National Runaway Switchboard (NRS) to raise awareness about the runaway crisis in America. Youth and their families can call 1-800-RUNAWAY for guidance 24 hours a day.

Inspired by Carroll's current single, "Hurry Home," a song about a father and his runaway daughter, the partnership has the singer acting as spokesperson for the NRS.

"Jason's song speaks to millions of people from youth to parents to siblings and families who are affected every day by a young person's decision to run from home. He is committed to helping address this national crisis," said Maureen Blaha, NRS executive director.

Carroll's childhood was touched by a runaway episode when his aunt ran away from home.

"I was so young when my aunt left home that I grew up not knowing who she was -- just someone we prayed for every night," Carroll said. "For all the families who are missing someone dear to them, and for all the young people who need a hand getting home, or staying home, I hope that what we're doing can help bring attention to an important issue and to the great resources available through NRS."

"Hurry Home," can be found on Carroll's second album, Growing Up Is Getting Old. Visit www.jasonmichaelcarroll.com for more details.
