Jason Aldean's Not A Kid Anymore

Jason Aldean admits that he has changed a lot since his early days in the business when he was playing in bowling allies one night and opening for Rascall Flatts the next. He was doing 200 shows a year then with different fan bases at every venue.  
Five years later, the 28-year-old singer has more responsibilities. He is father to 6-year-old Keeley and 2-year-old Kendyl; he has more fans, and he is now headlining his own shows.
"Over the last five years I've seen myself transition from a kid to an adult," Aldean told The Boot. "I had been in this town five or six years when I got my record deal, so I wasn't a youngster, but I was still very green. Over the past five years I've become a better singer and a better artist."
After having started at the bottom and worked his way up to accumulate a following, Aldean admits that his hard work has made him realize how much he wants to keep what he has. He urges others to never give up on their dreams.  
"I would say the lesson is if you want something bad enough just hang in there, don't give up on it. I can't imagine what I'd be doing right now if I'd moved home five or six years ago, maybe working at Wal-Mart or something. There are a lot of people who come to this town who don't get the opportunity I did."
