Jason Aldean proved this week on the Billboard charts exactly why he's nominated for his first-ever Academy of Country Music Awards.

After 14 weeks at the No. 2 position, Aldean's "My Kinda Party" pulled ahead of Taylor Swift to capture the top spot on the Country Albums chart and the No. 7 position on the all-genre Top 200.

“The last two weeks have been filled with early morning phone calls I never thought I’d get...first the ACM nominations for Male Vocalist and Entertainer of the Year, and then this morning to wake up hearing that we’re at No. one on the Billboard chart...it’s just incredible. Yeah, those are definitely the kind of early morning phone calls I don’t mind getting!”

Aldean's new single "Don't You Wanna Stay," featuring Kelly Clarkson, moved 57,000 downloads this week, also earning the No. 1 spot on the Country Digital Singles and iTunes Country Songs charts.

"My Kinda Party" sold more copies its first week than any other male country artist release in over three years.
