Jason Aldean is "Wide Open" for Gold

Jason Aldean's third album, Wide Open, has officially been certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America this week. Ten weeks after its release, Wide Open sold more than 500,000 units, faster than either of Aldean's previous two albums.

"We gave Jason and his producer Michael Knox the freedom to make the album Jason wanted to make, and they nailed it. Everyone who works on this project truly BELIEVES that Jason is the next superstar of our format, and that sort of passion is irreplaceable," said Broken Bow Records President Benny Brown.

Aldean has been selling out the Wide Open arena tour and will open a handful of dates for superstar Keith Urban in the coming months. Fans can also look for Aldean to perform on an upcoming episode of The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien, and he will be performing at Country Jam USA tonight in Grand Junction, Colo.
