One method of promoting a new single is by doing a traditional radio campaign, but if the song fits, a better method might be to take it to the local dance clubs. And that's exactly what newcomer Jamie Tate and her crew have done with her first single, "One Beer Away From Loving You."

The Bodell Records recording artist has already seen success as she released her song to the dance clubs.  People are requesting the song and it's getting a good introduction to club goers who will also want to her it on the radio.

“The Country dance club is a key element in breaking a new artist,” says David Haley, President of Edgehill Music & Media.  “Most Country radio stations have a relationship with dance clubs in their market, and they recognize that a portion of their core audience is hearing new music there first.  There’s a good chance that if it’s working in the dance clubs, it will work on Country radio.  Jamie's single is a perfect example of that.”

One Nashville-based company, Marco Club Connection, specializes in dance club marketing and promotions and has seen how this theory works.  The Zac Brown Band, Big & Rich, Joey + Rory and Gloriana are just a few of the artists that have gained exposure at the beginning of their careers through the company’s venue marketing efforts.

In addition to having her song requested at the clubs, Jamie Tate's song has also had a line dance created specifically for the song, titled "The 12 Ounces Line Dance” which comes from a line in the song.  Accomplished choreographer Junior Willis came up with the dance and it can be seen online at www.JamieTateMusic.com.
