Jamey Johnson struck gold when he released his second album, That Lonesome Song, in August 2008. The album enjoyed 20 weeks in the Top 10 of Billboard's Country albums chart and also released a single that won the 2009 ACM Song of the Year. Now, more than 500,000 album sales later, the RIAA has certified the album gold.

In 2008, That Lonesome Song made the "Best Albums of 2008" list in countless magazines and papers, including Rolling Stone and The New York Times. The single "In Color" earned Johnson his second award for ACM Song of the Year. The video is also nominated in two categories for the 2009 CMT Music Awards: Male Video of the Year Award and the USA Weekend Breakthrough Video of the Year Award.

Johnson performed a duet with Lee Ann Womack for George Strait's Artist of the Decade special on CBS. The two performed Strait's song, "Give It Away," which Johnson co-wrote. The special will  air May 27 at 8 p.m. on CBS.
