James Stroud Forms China Country Music Exchange

Veteran Country Music artist James Stroud has headed up a partnership to launch an international music and entertainment exchange program this year.Stroud has settled plans for various Country Music concerts and events to take place in China. The first event will be the 2009 Zhang Jia Jie International Country Music Week, kicking off in May with the first of the series to take place on Thursday, May 14, in the Province of Hunan."I was honored and overwhelmed by the gracious welcome, hospitality and friendliness of the Chinese people," Stroud said. "As far as I know, this series will be a first. We hope it to be the first of many."Future venues could be the Bird’s Nest, the structure built in Beijing for the 2008 Olympic Games.While concerts are taking place overseas, Stroud is bringing the exchanged to the U.S., where both Chinese and American artists will perform. The first show if its kind will be at Troy University in Troy, Ala., a date and time to be announced. A similar event is in the works to take place in Nashville.
