James Otto Hospitalized, Weekend Shows Canceled

James-Otto
Country singer James Otto has been forced to cancel his shows this weekend as he recovers from an abdominal illness that forced him to be hospitalized.

Otto released the following statement on his website on Wednesday, Sept. 8:

“Dear Friends, I want to share with you that I was admitted to the hospital yesterday for an abdominal illness and will be cancelling my shows this weekend-- 9/10 in Clarksville, Tenn., and 9/11 in Berea, Ohio. I have been feeling badly on and off for a while now but didn't think it was serious. Plus, I may have been a bit distracted by all the excitement of baby Ava's arrival! I’ll be down for a few days but hope to be back in action and on the road again soon.”

Ava Katherine is Otto’s first child with wife Amy, and Otto closed out his time on Toby Keith’s “American Ride” tour to be there for Ava’s birth on Aug. 24. Once he’s back on his feet, Otto will continue touring the country to promote his upcoming album, Shake What God Gave Ya, featuring the singles "Groovy Little Summer Song" and “Soldiers and Jesus.”
