1/14/2008 Stephen L. Betts Jack Ingram often spends time in his garage, clearing his mind, writing songs, and occasionally sipping what he calls “daddy juice.” Jack says that two songs on his current album, This Is It - “Make a Wish (Coming Home Again)” and “Ava Adele” – were penned in the garage. Both are dedicated to his children. “Lately, I haven’t been able to sit around in the garage and write, and it’s either because I haven’t been home that much or because the garage is now filled with bikes and junk!” Jack tells www.allaboutcountry.com. “But in all seriousness, I write a lot on the bus, on the plane, I do a lot of thinking and writing when I travel. You know, I did write songs for my first two kids, Ava and Eli, in the garage.” Jack, who also has a young son, Hudson, and is the youngest child in his own family, says he still needs to write a song for the youngster. “He might not want to hold his breath, he’s lucky I remember his name!,” he jokes.
