Jack Ingram in Awe of Kris Kristofferson

Jack Ingram is no stranger to hanging out with fellow celebrites on the red carpet, but one encounter at this year's CMA Awards almost made the Country singer cry.

Ingram met legend Kris Kristofferson just before the awards ceremony on Nov. 11, and Ingram admits he was still shaking after the singer-songwriter walked away.

"There's not a lot of guys that I react to like that," Jack told Nashville's Tennessean newspaper. "If I really think about what Kristofferson has meant to me, I would tear up. He's why I'm in this business ... That's not true. He's why I make music. I love the guy."

And it was actually Kristofferson who requested to meet Ingram. The icon's publicist approached Ingram asking if he'd stop over, explaining that Kristofferson wanted to say hello.

Jack Ingram, who was recently named one of Country's Sexiest Men, is currently touring with Gary Allan and the Eli Young Band as a follow-up to his his latest album, Big Dreams & High Hopes.
