This week’s episodes of American Idol are a nod to Country Music, with a line-up of Country Music performances. Idol isn’t holding back, with legendary Dolly Parton in her first stint as “mentor” to the nine remaining contestants as they sing her songs Tuesday.  The results show will feature Parton performing her current single, “Jesus & Gravity.” Parton is currently making headlines with her revival of 9 to 5 as it finds its way to the Broadway stage next February.  The show, for which Parton has written the score, will premiere in L.A. at the Ahmanson this September. The Clark Brothers also are set to take the stage Wednesday, with their performance available in video and audio Thursday on iTunes.  The band is a recent winner of The Next Great American Band competition, and are said to release an album later this year. Country Music singer Bucky Covington appears on the April 2 edition with a taped interview from Nashville to plug his self-titled CD and update fans on his life post-AI.  Since the fifth season of Idol, Convington has enjoyed success with his album, which topped at number one on the Country Music charts after its release in April 2007. Joining Covington will be Season 6 finalist Phil Stacey.  The AI crew caught up with Stacey on a farm outside of Nashville, getting an update on his career since the show.  Stacey’s self-titled debut album will drop April 29, and features the single “If You Didn't Love Me.” Dolly Parton week starts Tuesday, April 1 at 8:00 EST and continues Wednesday, April 2 at 9:00 EST.
