Why Charlie Daniels Had A Stroke

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Charlie Daniels as he recovers from a mild stroke, which apparently was not very bad at all. But on that topic, have you ever seen how he plays that fiddle? I almost have a stroke watching him!

Brad Paisley Headling 7th Annual New England Country Music Festival
And I didn’t know if they even knew what country music was up there. August 21 at Gillette Stadium, current ACM and CMA Male Vocalist of the Year Brad Paisley will headline a real nice show. Other country music performers include Sara Evans, Jason Aldean and Darius Rucker.

LA Times Says Country Music Is Strong
Well, yeah, like we didn’t know that. The Los Angeles Times did some ciphering and found out what performers generated the most revenue (money) from 2000-2009. Kenny Chesney is number two on the list with $742 million. Celine Dion was #1. Toby Keith was #6 and Tim McGraw #9. Tim of course had help from wife Faith Hill from their Soul2Soul tour.

Taylor Swift and Keith Urban Helping Haiti
George Clooney is organizing this huge telethon to benefit Haiti. It will be televised from New York City, Los Angeles, London and Haiti. Taylor Swift and Keith Urban are among the hundreds who will perform. It airs Friday, January 22, starting at 7 central time, which is how we tell time in Nashville.

Loretta Lynn and Harold Bradley Honored
Just before the Grammy awards January 31, the Recording Academy holds their Merit Awards January 30. They will honor Loretta Lynn with a Lifetime Achievement Award, along with others like Bobby Darrin, Leonard Cohen, Michael Jackson, etc. Nashville music producer and executive Harold Bradley will also be honored with a Trustees Award for contributions in a non-performing capacity.

Whatever you do today, please find some way to help Haiti. Woof.
Oh yeah, that pic is me doing my Elvis impersonation recently at Loews Vanderbilt Plaza hotel in Nashville.
