How Carrie Underwood Spent Her Summer Vacation

While most people would spend their summer vacation on a long trip or just taking some time off, Carrie Underwood has been spending a lot of time in a Nashville studio.
Carrie decided not to tour this summer so she could spend time writing songs for her third album, which is due out in November.  She has been spending time with writers outside of the country music genre, but assures fans that she has not abandoned her roots.
"I'm not planning on changing the kind of music that I sing, but it's nice to bring a different flavor into it," Carrie said.  "I like to be focused on one thing and do the best possible job I can, no matter wehat that one thing is."
Carrie is also busy in the studio recording for her new album.
