Historic Nashville Radio Station Sets Record

Nashville’s popular 650 AM WSM recent increase in share of the Nashville listening audience is the largest gain any country station in any market has ever generated between January and February.
 
According to Arbitron PPM (Personal People Meter) released last month, the station is a ratings record setter for the February 2 – March 2 time period.
 
“New listeners are getting hooked on our unique programming every day,” said four-year 650 AM WSM Program Director Joe Limardi. “When they come over to the AM side or go online, they’re finding their favorite songs, plus often discovering music with which they might not have been familiar previously."
 
The station plans to celebrate its recent success with a celebrity-filled afternoon set to include plenty of listener favorites like Academy of Country Music award-winner Jack Ingram, country legend Jessi Colter, Ketch Secor of Old Crow Medicine Show, multiple bluegrass award-winner Rhonda Vincent and more.
 
"Between waking up to 650 AM with ‘Coffee, Country and Cody’ and ending their day with ‘The Eddie Stubbs Show,’ listeners are tuned in for our unique program mix throughout the day including weekly and monthly live shows and radio that is truly one-of-a-kind," said Limardi.
 
The celebrity shows complement the station’s other one-of-a-kind programming, including listener-favorite shows “An Intimate Evening with Eddie Stubbs,” “Bluegrass Underground,” “Station Inn Sessions” and Tuesday, Friday and Saturday Grand Ole Opry performances.
