1/8/2008 Stephen L. Betts The 14th annual Country in the Rockies is set for Jan. 23-27 in Steamboat Springs, Colo., and will feature headliners Montgomery Gentry. As usual, the celebrity bartending night is expected to be a highlight of the four-day music and ski trip that helps fund cancer research. Three local bars will battle it out for the fullest tip jar, and the Tennessean reports that GAC's Storme Warren will serve as captain of the team at Steamboat's Slopeside bar. Storme's team includes Lee Roy Parnell, Blue County, Anthony Smith, Lucy Angel and Aaron Barker. The other team captains are Tom Gross and Gary Chapman. But Storme’s not waiting until he arrives in Colorado to start the competition. On Jan. 21, he’s hosting a pre-party at Nashville’s Tin Roof restaurant and bar. “It's kind of like a branch office for celebrity bartending night,” says Storme. Proceeds raised during Country in the Rockies go to the T.J. Martell Foundation and the Frances Williams Preston Research Lab at Vanderbilt University's Ingram Cancer Center.
