Heidi Newfield Thrilled with Nominations

 Watching the ACM nominations being announced Wednesday morning, Heidi Newfield did not expect to hear her name at all, much less five times."My husband and I watched the nominations with teary eyes and total elation," she said. "This is one of the happiest days of my life!"Newfield's five nominations, including Top Female Vocalist and Song of the Year, are the most for any female artist. However, there is still one thing missing for the former Trick Pony lead singer."In all my time doing this, I've never had the chance to perform on a major awards show," she said.  "I've always thought of that as a big mile marker, having an opportunity to get up onstage and throw down and show people what I can do."Nominees for the 2009 ACM Awards will be announced at a later date.
