Heidi Newfield Performs Concert 4 Cure the Event

Heidi Newfield will perform at Concert 4 The Cure on Saturday, Sept. 18, in West Franklin, Tenn.
 
Concert 4 The Cure, which will begin when Newfield takes the stage at 7 p.m., is a part of the 2010 Franklin 4 The Cure, which also includes a 5k run/walk, “Run 4 The Cure.” Proceeds from both events will go to support Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt. The 2009 events raised almost $54,000 and event organizers hope to double that amount in 2010.
 
Run 4 The Cure is a certifield 5k route (3.1 miles) that will appeal to all ages and lifestyles. Children can also run or walk Lily’s Rocket Run or Cooper’s Fun Run.
 
The Concert 4 The Cure, now in its fifth year, was started by the four sons of Theresa Stacey after she lost her twelve year battle with cancer. The Stacey family has since raised over $140,000 through the concerts and feels a sense of purpose behind their desire to organize them.
 
"We are excited to have this opportunity to honor our mother with this fifth Concert 4 The Cure.  We are fortunate to have so many caring people join us in our campaign to fight cancer by funding research," the Stacey family said.
 
The race portion of the event will take place in the morning with the concert in the evening. Both events are open to the public.
