10/16/2007 Stephen L. Betts Hank Williams Jr. says he was honored to have friends both old and new in attendance when he received his induction into the Nashville Songwriter's Hall of Fame on Sunday night (10/14). Among those in attendance to honor Hank Jr. were Keith Urban, Gretchen Wilson and his daughters, Holly and Hilary Williams. Hank says it was a great evening but "to watch your daughters who were in a near fatal car wreck not too long ago up there doing your songs, it made an impact on me." Also inducted into the Hall of Fame were Flatt & Scruggs. Hank recalls riding his motorcycle over to Earl Scruggs’ house to take banjo lessons as a teenager. Next up for Hank Jr. is the CMT Giants tribute special to be taped in Los Angeles on Oct. 25.
