Nashville-based 821 Entertainment's President Anastasia Brown and CEO Eric Geadelmann announced the company's partnership with Strike Entertainment and the Hank Williams Estate to produce an upcoming film on the life of the ledgendary Hank Williams.

This film would be one of about 16 other films that 821 Entertainment is planning to shoot in Tennessee, which they say will help bring revenue to Nashville's Music Row.

According to The Tennessean, 821's President Anastasia Brown said, “Those who control the money control the decisions. And those decisions involve scoring, giving more work to musicians, having local songwriters who write all kinds of music — not just country, but hip-hop and rock — and also giving on-screen opportunities. Our music industry is suffering, and the industry is Nashville’s brand. This helps, a lot.”

About creating this film, Brown also went on to say, “The Hank Williams story was one we personally had to tell - it’s a powerful story of a true American music icon and one of the most influential songwriters of the 20th century who tragically died at age 29. His creative handprint is still felt throughout the world today, which was one of the reasons we felt it important for us to do this with Hank’s heirs.”

With the partnership with the Hank Williams Estate, the production team has been able to gain rights to use some exclusive articles and recordings for the film.
