9/14/2007 Stephen L. Betts   Tim McGraw, Brad Paisley Kid Rock, Gretchen Wilson, Lynyrd Skynyrd and blues legend Buddy Guy will be among those paying tribute to Hank Williams Jr. during CMT Giants, a two-hour special set to air Nov. 17 on CMT. Taping of the special will take place Oct. 25 at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Los Angeles. Jimmy Kimmel and Terry Bradshaw will serve as presenters, and more performers will be announced at a later date. Tickets go on sale via Ticketmaster on Sept. 22. Reba McEntire was the first artist honored when CMT Giants was launched in 2006. In related (no pun intended!) news, the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum will honor Hank Williams Sr., his family and legacy in a special exhibit. Included among the items never or rarely seen by the public is a toddler-size stage costume designed by Nudie, which once belonged to Hank Jr. Family Tradition: The Hank Williams Legacy opens March 28, 2008, and will run until December 31, 2009. The exhibit will examine the ways in which American music continues to be measured by the standards Hank Williams set. It’s being presented with the full cooperation and assistance of the Williams family, and additional support is being provided by the Museum’s official Family Tradition media partners: Great American Country (GAC), Cumulus Broadcasting and The Tennessean. Family Tradition will be accompanied by an ongoing series of school and family programs, including live performances, panel discussions, films, instrument demonstrations and more.
