The Country music industry's vast number of record labels recently grew larger after Gretchen Wilson founded Redneck Records just outside Nashville, in Lebanon, Tenn.
In leu of the record company's debut, Wilson once again teamed up with John Rich, of Big & Rich, and acclaimed Grammy winning songwriter, Vicky McGehee, for a new single, "Work Hard, Play Harder." The debut single will be released to radio later this month.
McGehee has worked with Wilson and Rich in the past, including work on Wilson's "All Jacked Up" and the Big & Rich hit single, "Holy Water." She has also written songs for Jason Aldean and a Grammy winning duet written for Faith Hill and Tim McGraw, "Like We Never Loved At All."
Despite Wilson's friendly departure from Eipc Records and Sony Music Nashville in July, they promised to work together in the future. They are supporting Wilson's current endeavors, as Redneck Records will be distributed by RED Distribution, a subdivision of Sony Music.
Acting as president of the record label, Wilson will play an interactive role, overseeing every aspect of the company.
