Grascals Set To Release New Album

6/18/2008 Katie Ball Award-winning bluegrass artists The Grascals are set to release their new album Keep On Walkin’ on Rounder Records July 15. It’s the band’s first release in two years and their third studio with this record company. The album mixes true country and traditional bluegrass music. The album has twelve tracks and features multiple special guests and friends of the band. It starts off with the song “Feeling Blue,” written by Aubrey Holt, well-known in the bluegrass community. Holt also wrote two other songs on the album, “Sad Wind Sighs” and “Happy Go Lucky.” To record “Sad Wind Sighs,” the band enlisted the vocal talents of Vince Gill. Grascals vocalist and guitar player Jamie Johnson wrote two songs that appear on the album. He co-wrote the title track “Keep On Walkin’” with Charley Stefl and co-wrote “Indiana” with Harley Allen. Johnson has written songs on all of the band’s albums. The Grascals also included several cover songs from some of country’s greatest stars. Waylon Jennings “Only Daddy That’ll Walk The Line” and George Jones’ “Choices” are two songs from the album. The band also included a gospel song on the album, “Farther Along.” Fans should also look for The Grascals to perform on CBS’s Early Show on July 5.
