George Jones and Tammy Wynette’s daughter Georgette has found a new way to learn about life in the country music business. She attended George Jones University, a 2-day program held twice a year that gives those looking for the lowdown on the music industry insight into the business. The classes are given at Jones’ ranch in Franklin, Tenn.

Georgette Jones has been working toward a career in the entertainment business for a while. She has a duet with her father on his album Burn Your Playhouse Down: The Unreleased Duets. Jones believes the program gives newcomers a different look at what they’re getting into.

“I’m really glad my dad decided to be a part of and lend his name and support to GJU,” said Georgette in a statement. “There are so many new things a new artist should know before they get to Nashville and these classes help to prepare them for what is ahead.”

The next session will be September 25-27 at the ranch. Some of the people lined up to speak at the program are: Bill Cody, a broadcast personality; Philip K. Lyon, an attorney; Stephen Cochran, an artist with Aria Records; and Bob Whitaker, former General Manager of the Grand Ole Opry.
