Georgette Jones will appear as the ghost of her mother on the Logos new show Sordid Lives: The Series. Jones is the daughter of Tammy Wynette and George Jones and like her musical parents she can sing. At the premier in New York City on July 15 Jones will sing classic Wynette songs that are featured on the show in tribute to her mother.

Sordid Lives: The Series, created, written and directed by Del Shores, is a spin-off of the play and will include performers such as Olivia Newton-John, Bonnie Bedelia and Caroline Rhea.

Shores says that Jones was perfect for the part and a joy to work with,

“It was such a thrill to work with Georgette in my series. If you know my work, you know my intense love for Tammy Wynette. Georgette not only played her mother in the series to perfection, but she sang all of the Tammy songs that we used and just soared.”

Not only is Jones featured on the soundtrack to the series, but has also recently been featured on her father’s new album Burn Your Playhouse Down: The Unreleased Duets, singing “You and Me and Time.” Georgette wrote the song with Don Pfrimmer. Jones hopes to soon have an album of her own to add to the legacy of her parents.

“I hope country music embraces this very talented woman and she becomes the star she deserves to be,” said Shores. “Besides all that talent, Georgette is just good people. Her mama would be so proud of her. I know I am.”

The series will air July 23 10 PM ET/PT on Logos.
