George Jones Album Goes Back in Time

5/5/2008 Kasey Bell Country Music legend George Jones will be releasing a new album, but the songs are coming from his past.  George’s new album, George Jones - Burn Your Playhouse Down, is made up of duets that George recorded over the years but were never released.  Some of George’s partners include Keith Richards, Mark Knopfler, Vince Gill, Dolly Parton, daughter Georgette Jones and ex-wife Tammy Wynette. Bandit Records, which is releasing the album this July, says that they went through a lot of record companies and worked with a lot of people to get this album done, but in the end, it was worth it. “George was really happy we got them,” said Bandit Records’ Evelyn Shriver. Unfortunately, not all of the songs were completely finished when they were stored away.  Luckily, people like Billy Sherrill are there to make sure they can still be enjoyed by all. “For us to finish the George and Tammy duet, we’ve got the original producer and one of the artists,” he said.   Source: Tennessean.com.
