King George is still going strong, as once again he marks milestones in his illustrious Country Music career. His 2008 release, Troubadour, officially went platinum this week with 1 million albums sold. Troubadour marks Strait's 33rd platinum/multi-platinum album, more than any other Country Music artist.

Strait now sits at No. 3 across all genres for most platinum/multi-platinum albums, behind legends The Beatles and Elvis Presley.

Last week's airing of George Strait: ACM Artist of the Decade All Star Concert has contributed to a sales jump for three of Strait's albums—Troubadour, 22 More Hits, and the 50#1's 2-Cd set— which this week reported a 300 percent increase in sales.

Looking forward, Strait plans for a fall 2009 release of Twang, and his first single from that album, "Living For The Night," is the most added song this week on the R&R/Billboard and Mediabase/Country Aircheck charts.

Strait heads to Texas this weekend, where he will play a sold out show at the Dallas Cowboys Stadium, along with fellow performers Reba McEntire, Blake Shelton and Julianne Hough.
