As George Strait prepares for the new year, a new tour rolls around in 2012. His tour will kick off January 27 in Lafayette, La., and will include stops in Louisiana, Georgia, Florida, Arizona, Oklahoma, Nevada, Utah and Kansas. Joining him on the stage for the new tour is legendary country artist Martina McBride. The two will bring fans a country music night to remember.

“I love Martina. She’s been on our tours before and she’s great,“ says Strait. “I’m really looking forward to the tour. Martina will definitely make it a special night.”

The King of Country recently debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Country Charts and No. 3 on Billboard Top 200 Chart with his 39th studio album, Here For A Good Time. Strait is certainly having a good time as he rests with the title track at No. 2 this week on the Billboard and Mediabase/Country Aircheck charts. It is his 73rd Top 5 hit out of 89 career singles.

“Obviously with each new album, Strait proves he's not living off the heat from those first initial hits,” writes Houston Chronicle.

Strait has earned his title of "The King of Country" with the most No. 1 singles of any artist in history (that’s right, he even beat out Elvis). He has sold nearly 69 million records with 33 different platinum albums and has the most RIAA platinum certifications in country music and the third in all genres (following The Beatles and Elvis Presley). He has 57 No. 1 hits to date.

The Feb. 4 Las Vegas appearance of Strait’s new tour will go on sale Sat., Oct. 29, with other ticket on-sale dates to be announced soon.
