The Grand Ole Opry presented by Humana helped celebrate a beloved country music artist’s 80th birthday. Grand Ole Opry star and Country Music Hall of Famer George Jones partied during the sold-out Tuesday night Opry.

Artists came together for the event to perform for Jones. Alan Jackson sang “He Stopped Loving Her Today,” and together with Lee Ann Womack sang “Golden Ring.” Jamey Johnson performed “Whose Gonna Fill Their Shoes,” and The Oak Ridge Boys entertained with “Same Ole Me.”

The performances will be aired Oct. 4 at 7 p.m. central when “Opry Live” returns to GAC with six new star-packed episodes.

Birthday boy, George, became a Grand Ole Opry member 55 years ago. Some of his greatest hits include his first hit in 1955, “Why, Baby, Why,” “She Thinks I Still Care,” and “The Door.”
