The best-selling Country Music artist has hinted the performance may be the last for quite some time. Garth Brooks was the recipient of the Academy of Country Music Crystal Milestone Award. He is the first artist to receive the award, which the Academy established to "commemorate a specific, remarkable achievement by an artist or industry leader." "I just want to say thank you. This is about record sales. I'm hoping it's about music. I have to thank all of record retail. Of course, I have to thank all the guys in Nashville and country radio. Country Music fans, of course, are still the greatest and the biggest population out there." Brooks said. "I think like all children out here, which I am, I owe this to my mom and dad since they probably bought half of these records anyway." The Country Music star retired from touring in 2000 to parent his three daughters. Brooks currently lives in Oklahoma with his wife, fellow Country Music artist Trisha Yearwood. Brooks has only returned to work for a series of charity concerts and to promote his compilation The Ultimate Hits.
