Garth Still Working on Screenwriting

1/23/2008 Stephen L. Betts Garth Brooks is set to perform five shows in two days (two Friday, three Saturday) this weekend at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, but he plans to stay busy after the concerts are over. Garth tells the Los Angeles Times that he'll return to screenwriting in the next few months, and hints that a movie based on Garth's alter-ego, Chris Gaines, is not out of the question. He also talks candidly about his three daughters, saying, “I remember not knowing my children, and I never want to go back there. I want my kids to be raised the way I was raised. My parents were at every game, whether I played or not. You'd look over your shoulder and there they were.” This weekend's shows in Los Angeles will benefit F.I.R.E. (Fire Intervention Relief Effort) in California. A portion of Garth’s show on Friday at 6 p.m. will air that night on CBS-TV.
