11/9/2007 Stephen L. Betts   Halfway through his nine-night stand at Kansas City’s Sprint Center, reviews for Garth’s performances have been peppered with numerous superlatives: “amazing,” “unbelievable,” etc. And according to the Kansas City Star, “the fourth night of Occupation Garth was louder and rowdier than any before it.” Garth’s two-hour show shuffled the 20-song set list he’d played the previous three nights, with “The Dance,” which had been closing his first set, performed solo/acoustic in the middle of the show. “During ‘Friends in Low Places’,” says the newspaper review, “the fans in the highest elevations of the arena looked like frenzied bees in a hive. Down on the floor, a young lady … wept she was so excited.” The review notes that less than halfway through his nine-day stay, Garth “showed some slight evidence of fatigue. Cowboys who sing probably don't like to be called ‘hoarse’; instead, let's say his voice sounded a bit saddle-sore.” Still, the review concludes by saying the show offered a “memorable evening: two hours of uninterrupted electric-neon joy.” Garth also gave an audience member his acoustic guitar, which he autographed and offered to her as a birthday gift.
