Garth Goes Live for Five

1/25/2008 Stephen L. Betts  Garth Brooks is ready to rock this weekend. The singer told Staples Center officials attending a press conference this week to expect him to play over his allotted two hours for the last two shows Friday and Saturday in Los Angeles. Garth’s five concerts at the Staples Center this weekend will benefit the Fire Intervention Relief Effort (F.I.R.E.) to help those affected by the southern California wildfires last year. Additionally, all proceeds from merchandise booths will go to the relief effort. In addition, during the CBS special Garth Brooks: Live in LA, from the first show tonight, viewers can call 877-427-8444 or go to http://www.mccormicktribune.org/2008firerelief to make contributions to the F.I.R.E. fund. Garth announced at the press conference that CBS will continue to air clips of the special on its website throughout the coming weeks to encourage further donations. Garth Brooks: Live in LA airs tonight at 9 p.m. (ET) on CBS.
