8/27/2007 Stephen L. Betts   Garth Brooks’ Aug. 18 press conference for radio programmers and media types was not Garth’s only work function that day. CMT.com’s Hazel Smith Hazel, who was (quite deservedly) the only journalist in the room during the morning press conference whom Garth singled out for a personal greeting and hug, reports that at sundown later that day, “the 150 radio programmers invited to Music Town by Garth and Big Machine [the label promoting Garth’s new Ultimate Hits CD package] were bused north of town to Garth's property in nearby Goodlettsville, Tenn., where he lived with his family before moving back to Oklahoma.” Hazel also reports that the radio folks were treated to a “magnificent meal -- steak, roast, chicken, veggies, rice, cheesecake and other scrumptious desserts -- served at food stations throughout the area,” and that they were able to get a look at the bus Garth traveled in from 1996 to 1998. The bus is parked in a huge barn on the property, which also houses many of Garth’s awards, along with the stages he used throughout his years of performing, including the huge stage from his 1997 Central Park concert. Garth's new single, "More Than a Memory" is slated to be delivered to country radio on Aug. 27.
