GAC to Re-Air ACM Awards

5/19/2008 Mac McKinnon Carrie Underwood ACM Awards Female Vocalist of the Year Great American Country (GAC) will re-air the 43rd annual Academy of Country Music Awards on Wednesday, June 4 at 9 p.m. /ET. The ACM awards, which originally aired May 18, took place in Las Vegas and were hosted by Country diva Reba McEntire. “GAC has partnered with the Academy of Country Music and Dick Clark Productions for the fourth year in covering all aspects of the ACM Award activities, from the nominations to the post-show excitement,” said Sarah Trahern, GAC’s senior vice president of programming. “The premiere airs during GAC’s Fan-tastic week – one of the biggest fan-centric weeks in television - and I cannot think of a more appropriate program for that special week.” Highlights of the awards include Kenny Chesney bringing home his fourth-strait Entertainer of the Year Award, and Carrie Underwood winning Top Female Vocalist for the third year in-a-row.
