Jamey-Johnson He was born and raised in Hank Williams Sr.’s hometown, Montgomery, Ala  Bill Anderson, the co-writer of one of his songs, touts him as having the “natural talent and ability to become this generation’s next Hank Williams.” And this Saturday night, America will get to see the path to stardom Jamey Johnson has taken in the return of GAC’s series, Introducing…Johnson began writing songs when he was 13. His father told GAC that after he began writing songs, the family had to be careful about what was said around the house — whether it be something foolish or profound, Johnson wrote a song about it.After serving eight years as a U.S. Marine, Johnson moved to Nashville to seek a career in Country Music. He landed a recording contract after several years, but torn between the success in his career and his failing marriage, he turned to alcohol. Upon the advice of his co-writer and close friend, Buddy Cannon, Johnson wrote songs as personal therapy, which ultimately helped him to stop drinking. The personal therapy helped Johnson gain musical success, too. During that time, Johnson wrote the 2007 ACM and CMA Song of the Year, “Give It Away,” which was recorded by George Strait.Introducing… Jamey Johnson will show viewers the softer side of the “outlaw” singer. The show features Johnson singing on stage to his daughter and talking about how she is his best friend.  Viewers will also get to hear songs from Johnson’s album, That Lonesome Song, throughout the program. Fans can catch Introducing… Jamey Johnson on Nov. 1 at 10:30 p.m. EST.
