Lee Ann Womack is a nominee for the 44th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards in the Top Female Vocalist category.
Womack is up against the best artist in the industry: Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, Taylor Swift and Heidi Newfield. However, Womack is not all that concerned about winning. She has already taken home five ACM trophies, but finds the nomination is actually sweeter than the win.
"I love being nominated for anything anytime," she told GACtv.com. "I’ve always been more happy with the nomination than I was with the win. I think it’s because the win comes and goes so quickly, but the nomination — you get nominated, and then it’s a couple of months until the awards show where you’re part of everybody’s shows that they’re doing. So I’ve always liked being nominated."
Womack will be performing on the ACM Awards, which will be broadcast live Sunday, April 5, on CBS. She is also scheduled to take part in the taping of George Strait: Artist Of The Decade, An All Star Concert Special, which will air May 27.
