Fences Can't Keep Keith Urban From Fans

The rain came down hard during this year’s CMT Music Awards Pre-show at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. However, that didn’t stop dedicated fans from standing in the downpour in hopes of seeing their favorite Country artists before the show.
Country music’s favorite Aussie, Keith Urban, recognized his fans’ devotion and returned the love and attention. Urban took his time walking down the blue carpet and tried his best to greet every fan. According to CMT, he even jumped the fence to say hello to his admirers in the back.
“They’ve been waiting out there all day and it was pouring rain earlier,” Urban told reporters backstage. “If you’re standing in the front, you’re hoping to get a chance to meet everybody. So I think you just make time to do it… or you’re putting the cart before the horse.”
The fans returned the favor later that evening when Urban took home the fan-voted Male Video of the Year for “Til Summer Comes Around.”
“Everybody who voted at home and around the place, thank you very much,” Urban said in his acceptance speech.
Look for Urban and singer/songwriter John Mayer when they take the stage on CMT Crossroads. Their performance will air June 18 at 10 p.m. EST.
