Fans To Decide This Week Who's CMT's Next Superstar

 

NASHVILLE -- After weeks of competing for the title, the two finalists will learn if they are the winner of CMT’S NEXT SUPERSTAR in the season finale results show, airing Friday, June 10 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on CMT. The hour-long grand finale will feature a special performance by Kristen Chenoweth (“Glee”) and at the end of the celebration, host Thea Andrews will reveal America’s vote and CMT’S NEXT SUPERSTAR will be crowned.

 

The ultimate showdown between the Top 2 finalists will be seen on the episode airing on Friday, June 3 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT). After the final two compete to impress the judges and capture America’s vote, voting will open. Fans will be able to vote immediately following the episode via text and at www.cmtsuperstar.com, and votes can be cast until Friday, June 10 at 10:00 AM ET.

 

The winner of CMT’S NEXT SUPERSTAR will receive a record deal with Warner Bros. Records and will be the opening act on CMT on Tour this fall, the annual tour sponsored by the network. The winner’s finale performance will also run as a music video on CMT and CMT.com.

 

CMT has given an early renewal to its music competition series, CMT’s NEXT SUPERSTAR, which premiered in April. Another crop of singing and songwriting talent will have the chance to compete when the show returns in late 2011/early 2012.

 

Executive Produced by father-son team, Nigel & Simon Lythgoe, CMT’S NEXT SUPERSTAR searches to find America's next great country star by not only testing their performance, but putting them in new situations every episode so the contestants can learn what it really takes to become a country star.
