Fans to Choose ACM's Top New Artist Nominees

For the first time ever, you, the fans of Country Music, will have the power to vote for the Academy of Country Music Award's Top New Artist Categories: Top New Male Vocalist, Top New Female Vocalist and Top New Duo or Group. Voting will begin on Friday, Feb. 13, and end Thursday, March 5, at www.gactv.com.Winners from each of the categories will be announced March 9 and will compete in a new ACM Awards category -- Top New Artist. Voting for that category will begin March 9 and end April 5, with the winner being announced live during the 44th Annual ACM Awards on April 5.In conjunction with this, GAC will air several TV specials that feature the nominees of each category, as well as a special on the winners. The first special, featuring each of the nine nominees, will be hosted by Jack Ingram and premiere on Feb. 20. The second, hosted by Sara Evans on March 19, will announce the winner of each category and present the artist with their award. Each winning artist will also perform on the special.The ACM Awards will be broadcast live on CBS from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas Sunday, April 5, at 8 p.m. EST. The nominees will be announced Wednesday, Feb. 11, in Nashville.
