Faith Shows Her R-E-S-P-E-C-T

1/9/2008 Stephen L. Betts   Faith Hill will be in Los Angeles next month to help honor Aretha Franklin, who has been named the 2008 MusiCares Person of the Year. Faith is a long-time admirer of the Queen of Soul, and last year recorded a song for one of Aretha's upcoming CDs, which she says was “an amazing experience.” The event, which will take place Feb. 8, celebrates Aretha’s musical achievements and her philanthropic efforts on behalf of children's and healthcare organizations, as well as various churches and food banks in the Detroit area. Other performers slated to appear include singers Patti Austin and John Legend, The Blues Brothers (Dan Aykroyd and Jim Belushi), and gospel singers Shirley Caesar and Bebe and CeCe Winans. The evening will include also include a live auction. All proceeds will go to MusiCares, which helps musicians and music-industry professionals in times of financial, medical, and personal need.
