Faith Opens "Red Umbrella" for Ellen

8/31/2007 Stephen L. Betts Faith Hill will debut her new single – the first new release from her upcoming album, The Hits - during the season premiere week of The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Although she performed “Red Umbrella” on stage during the last three dates of the Soul2Soul2007 tour, it’s the first time she'll be singing it on TV. Based on how fans have responded to the song, already, Faith has no worries about how the TV audience will respond. “It has the ingredients of any great song,” says Faith. “It's cleverly crafted and its message is sincere.” Faith taped her Ellen appearance at New York's Lincoln Center yesterday. She also performs her smash hit, “This Kiss.” “Red Umbrella” was written by Aimee Mayo, Chris Lindsey and Brett and Brad Warren, and is slated to be released to radio stations on Sept. 13. The season premiere of The Ellen DeGeneres Show will air Wednesday (9/5).
