Eric Church is enjoying the success of his chart climbing single, “Smoke a Little Smoke,” but lately the singer has been known to save some little cats.

Church stumbled upon two lost, lonely felines while singing through a jog a few weeks ago and was instantly stricken with can’t-put-cute-kitty-down syndrome.

Allergies kept the singer from making the cats his own, but he was able to find a home for the wandering love-bags by creating a convincing plea that caught the ear of woman from Church’s home state. The North Carolina native showed his fondness for the felines with a posting written from the perspective of one of the forgotten felines.

“One day we noticed a guy singing as he was running down the road and we started to follow him,” the posting read. “Little did we know at the time, it was Country Music singer, Eric Church.

“We were dumped out in a subdivision near a lake and left to fend for ourselves in the woods,” the posting continued.

The cats were found as a pair and were given as a pair, at no charge.

Church will be at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville on Tuesday, July 27, and then at Sloss Furnaces on Saturday, July 31, inBirmingham. For more tour dates visit the singer’s website, www.ericchurch.com.
