The CMA Music Festival’s nightly concerts kick off at LP Field in Nashville Thursday night with Country Music acts Jewel, Kellie Pickler, Taylor Swift, Sugarland, and Montgomery Gentry.
The performance will require a little extra effort from Montgomery Gentry’s Eddie Montgomery. He recently broke some ribs in a horse riding accident, and breathing deeply can be painful.
"When I first [broke] it, I was hurtin’ like a son of a buck," Eddie told Great American Country. "I didn’t move around a whole lot. It’s probably the first time that I could feel it every time really when I take a deep breath. But the doctor told me to do that. He said the more you breath deeper and move around, as long as you don’t get too physical, it’s gonna make it heal quicker. I was like, ‘OK, give me some Jim Beam.’"
Montgomery also consulted a chiropractor, adding "Somebody told me to go to a chiropractor, so I went to a chiropractor, and he helped out, too," Eddie says. "I didn’t have a clue that that would work, but it does."
