Eagles CD is Triple-Platinum

The Eagles’ Long Road Out of Eden has been certified triple-platinum by the RIAA on its first day of eligibility. Released Oct. 30, the album debuted at No. 1 on the pop and country album charts, with sales of 711,000 units, and has already become the fifth best selling album of 2007, and the biggest selling country album of the year, according to Nielsen SoundScan. With Long Road Out of Eden, the Eagles became the only artist in music history to score a No. 1 album more than 35 years after releasing their debut record. Internationally, the album has sold in excess of 1.5 million albums and has topped the music charts in the UK, Australia, Greece, India, the Netherlands, New Zealand, and Norway. The disc is currently No. 1 on Billboard’s European Top 100 Chart.
