9/25/2007 Stephen L. Betts   The Eagles are set for their first-ever appearance at the 41st Annual CMA Awards, airing live on Wednesday, Nov. 7 at 8 p.m. (ET) on ABC-TV. The band's decision to appear on the CMA Awards follows the success of their recently released single, "How Long," currently climbing the country charts. "How Long" is the first single from the group's soon-to-be released double album, Long Road out of Eden, which features 20 new studio recordings. In 1993, Eagles drummer Don Henley was nominated for CMA Vocal Event of the Year with Trisha Yearwood for "Walkaway Joe," which the two performed together during the 1992 CMA Awards. In 1994, Common Thread: The Songs of The Eagles won CMA Album of the Year. The project featured country artists, including Clint Black, Brooks & Dunn, Vince Gill, Alan Jackson, Travis Tritt, and Yearwood, performing Eagles' hits. The Eagles will be performing six nights in October with CMA Vocal Group of the Year nominee Dixie Chicks as a Grand Opening celebration for the new NOKIA Theatre L.A. Live in downtown Los Angeles. Brooks & Dunn, Brad Paisley, Sugarland, Josh Turner and Carrie Underwood were recently announced as added performers for the 2007 CMA Awards, joining Kenny Chesney, Martina McBride, Rascal Flatts, George Strait, and Keith Urban. Brooks & Dunn are nominated for Vocal Duo, however, they will not host the show as they have the last three years. This year's host has yet to be announced.
