Gospel Singer Dottie Rambo Dies

5/12/2008 Amber Garner Singer/songwriter and Gospel Music star Dottie Rambo died recently in a fatal bus crash near Mount Vernon, MO., according to gactv.com. Rambo wrote songs recorded by the likes of Elvis Presley, Dolly Parton, and Barbara Mandrell. The gospel singer’s next album, Sheltered in the Arms of God, was supposed to be released this summer. Rambo was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2007 and the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame in 2006.  “I know Dottie is in Heaven in the arms of God right now, but our earth angel will surely be missed,” said ACM Award performer Dolly Parton. “Dottie was a dear friend, a fellow singer, songwriter and entertainer, and-- as of late—my duet singing partner.” Rambo’s death was the latest in a series of unfortunate passings in the month of May:
