Dolly Heading South by Southwest

Betts Dolly Parton is slated to appear at the newly refurbished Austin City Music Hall on Friday, Mar. 14, as part of the South by Southwest (SXSW) Music Conference and Festival, which returns to the streets and venues of Austin, Texas, from Mar. 7-16. Dolly’s participation is a collaborative effort between SXSW and performing-rights organization BMI. Other BMI-sponsored events will include their annual indie rock showcase, a film panel moderated by BMI Vice President, Film/Television Relations Doreen Ringer Ross; and a songwriters panel moderated by BMI Vice President of Writer/Publisher Relations Nashville, Jody Williams. The South by Southwest Music & Media Conference takes place Mar. 12-16 at the Austin Convention Center, and will feature four days of panels, interviews, workshops, peer meetings and a trade show exhibition. More than 1500 acts will be showcased on stages throughout downtown Austin during the festival.
