After the first week of sales, Dolly Parton, partnered with the Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, sold more than 12,300 units of Backwoods Barbie- The Collector's Edition CD, putting it at No. 9 on the Billboard Top Country Charts as well as No. 40 on the Billboard 200.
Now in its second week of sales, Backwoods Barbie, sold exclusively at Cracker Barrel, rests in the No. 14 position. The album features never-before-heard songs that are close to Parton's heart.
"This achievement clearly demonstrates Cracker Barrel’s ability to reach a large audience of music buyers,” said Peter Keiser, Vice President of Marketing for Cracker Barrel. “It shows the strength of the brand. With 588 retail outlets for our exclusive CDs, Cracker Barrel has a unique opportunity to sell quality music in great quantity.”
"I am very excited that the album has been so well received," said Parton. “We sensed from the start that this would be a great partnership. Seeing how many people bought the CD, books and rocking chairs just proved that my fans are Cracker Barrel fans too!”
